Just One of Those Days

We all have them, the days where it seems like nothing is going according to plan. Everything seems to have fallen apart, and just when you think it might get a little better, something else goes wrong.

Everyone has “just one of those days” from time to time. The feeling of inadequacy or depression seems to just take our lives over and it’s very difficult to get our mind back on the task at hand.

How does one go on with life after having a bad day? It’s not as difficult as you may think. Try one or two of the following ideas:

Check your stats. A good set of stats certainly wouldn’t be depressing to most of us. If it’s your stats that are causing you to feel so depressed, remember: people are fickle. One day your stats may suck, but wait until tomorrow. If there are several days of pathetically low stats, you may want to revamp the site/gallery that you’re promoting.

Take a break. A good couple of hours away from the work area can help a great deal. If you can’t possibly take a break, ask yourself why. Can it wait a couple of hours? If it can, then get up and go have some coffee, work out, go to lunch, run an errand, or just take a power nap.

Find something else to do. Play a video game. Work on a different site for a change. Make a business deal.

Talk to someone. If your depression or anxiety persists or worsens, talk to someone. Don’t be embarrassed to seek out professional help if you need it. Mental stability is something that most of us take for granted, but push on a daily basis. Don’t force yourself to be prideful and negligent of your emotional and mental health.

No matter what, remember that you’re worth every ounce of energy that you put into your life and your life choices. Being an adult webmaster certainly has its share of ups and downs for everyone, but you don’t have to choose between your happiness and your line of work.

You chose this line of work for yourself. You chose to do something that you thought you’d be good at doing, and it can work for you. It will work for you if you take the time to find your way through the high-stress and frustration that we all see from time to time.

Let yourself ease through the rough times. It’s hard sometimes, but in the end, it’s well worth the effort and energy that you put into it. It’s our business, and in our success we will find ways to ensure the success of others.

Take care of yourselves! ~ Tala
